The North Shore Lives Well — Eat Well Too
North Vancouver is one of the most active communities in Canada — mountain trails, Lynn Canyon, Grouse Mountain, Deep Cove kayaking. After a day spent outdoors, you deserve a meal that matches the effort. Cross the Second Narrows (Ironworkers Memorial) Bridge, take Hwy 1 east through Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam, then continue on Lougheed Hwy into Maple Ridge — Taste of Persia is on the south side at the 20757 mark.
We're a family-owned Iranian restaurant where every dish is made from scratch daily. Charcoal-grilled kabobs with real live charcoal. Stews that slow-braise for hours. Bread baked fresh in our in-house tanoori oven. Saffron rice made with real Persian saffron. None of this exists on the North Shore — and the drive east on Hwy 1 is a straight, easy 60 minutes.
The North Shore is also home to one of Metro Vancouver's most established Iranian and Persian diaspora communities. North Vancouver residents who grew up with Persian home cooking consistently describe Taste of Persia as the closest thing to what their families made. A 4.9-star rating from over 400 reviews confirms it isn't just nostalgia.
What Brings the North Shore 60 Minutes East
Real Charcoal Grilling
Our kabobs are grilled over live charcoal — not gas, not electric. The deep smoky flavour is the hallmark of authentic Iranian kabob, and it's something that simply does not exist anywhere on the North Shore.
Made from Scratch Daily
Stews braised every morning, bread baked in-house in our tanoori oven, rice cooked with real Persian saffron. Everything fresh. North Vancouver's Persian community says it tastes like home — because it is made that way.
100% Halal Certified
All meats are halal-certified without exception. For North Vancouver's halal-conscious families and the North Shore's diverse Muslim community, we're the nearest certified authentic Persian destination in the region.
Iranian Family Restaurant
A real Iranian family owns, cooks, and runs this restaurant. Persian hospitality — generous portions, warm welcome, food made with care — is embedded in every meal. North Shore visitors feel it from the moment they walk in.
